I bought this to replace, my old beat-up copy that I had purchased many years ago. I am a Joe Satriani fan and over the years have bought about 12 of his albums. I think that this is one of his best. I think the album is worth the title track alone, which I think best represents Satriani's style and philosophy when it comes to writing music. Some fans complained about his singing on a couple of tracks, but regardless how you feel about it the other instrumental tracks more than make up for it.For those considering buying a Joe Satriani cd for the first time, both this and Surfing with the Alien are probably the most popular. Not of This Earth is probably one of the funnest. One of my personal favorites is Is There Love in Space. Crystal Planet was probably the most unappreciated. I did not enjoy listening to any of his collaborative works. For a "best of" compilation, I liked Time Machine best. The only album I did not like listening to so far was Super Colossal. I have not heard and have stayed away from his latest cd, only because I felt I already own an excessive number of his works.
